1. I’ve been actively trying to be more constructive with expressing my feelings for a while now, and I think it’s working

4. it seriously bothers me to be on a desktop computer that doesn’t have two monitors

I like it! (I like corests, yes, I should wear one soon for funsies. Maybe I’ll do it tomorrow.) Very pretty <3 and pocketwatches just make it better. (I shall have to finish a decent drawing of my Steampunk take on Karel. He has a pocketwatch.)

1: Do you try to stay away from walkthroughs? - normally yes, unless I know the game has a lot of hidden content (see: the chests you couldn’t open in FFXII), in which case I’ll just find out what I need to do/not do to unlock it
2: Company you’re always loyal to? - lol I am loyal to nothing. if Clover was still a thing, though, I think I might be there because of Okami
3: Best game you’ve ever played? - see, I want to say Fire Emblem (7) here, but… Okami has the most replays out of everything I own. It’s a freaking excellent game that’s made me cry. Katamari Damacy is good too on a more casual level.
4: Worst game you’ve ever played? - Metal Gear Solid 2. I’m terrible at it, it sets off my anxiety, and I don’t want to discount the merit of it as a game, but personally, we were a horrible match as game and player. I liked it less than, even, say, shit like Star Wars Podracing for N64 which was an objectively terrible game.
5: A popular series/game you just can’t get into no matter how much you try? - Final Fantasy games aside from X, XII, IX a little (yes, I’m saying I didn’t like VII. I’m so sorry)… also Kingdom Hearts beyond 1 and 2. Squenix is just not a company I’ve been enjoying the productions of.
6: A game that’s changed you the most? - FE7 has had the most lasting impact on me as a person, I think. That’s mostly due to the fact that, I mean, fuck, like Karel is almost an aspect of my personality at this point. It’s also gotten me in with pretty much my core friends group.
10: A game you’ve completely given up on? - again, MGS2. I was all I WILL PLAY THIS!!!! and then….no
13: A game you were the most excited for when it wasn’t released yet? - hmg… I usually don’t get too excited for games pre-release, but I’m pretty freaking stoked for P4Golden (I preordered it, man. that’s a big deal haha). I also remember being pretty excited about Zelda Twilight Princess. I think my lack of excitement, though, is mostly due to A) not having a lot of current systems (my newest thing is a 3DS - no 360, no PS3) and B) not being able to afford most games on drop day ^^’
16: Character you’ve hated most? From what game? - Damn… I do not usually hate characters, so it’s kinda weird. I also don’t play a lot of games that have the archetypes I don’t like (weak, whiny characters who never develop or else loud and obnoxious characters in a game with voice acting), so… hmg. like as a kiddo I had some Rinoa hate? but… I got over it because pretty.
20: What was the first video game you ever played? - Dear god. Um. I want to say the GBA Spyro game? Yeah, that’s probably it. I’m horrible at above-view action games, so… I did not like that game very much.
21: How old were you when you first played a video game? - I think I played Spyro for PS2 at a friend’s house…maybe when I was 10 or 11?
23: Biggest disappointment you’ve had in gaming? - Gonna be honest, it’s less of a “this game” thing and more of a community thing in that because I can’t get games for a long, long-ass time after they release, it’s always really disappointing to finally get it, and just sit on the tail end of fandom watching everyone be just completely over it.
24: Casual, Hardcore, or in the middle? - oh god, super casual. I game maybe…solidly? a few times a month. I am barely a gamer at this point because of time allocation. I’d rather be talking to people online, and I’m incredibad at multitasting without feeling like I’m giving my friends a slight.
29: Which is more important, gameplay or story? - I’ll put it this way: story is important, but if I really want a good or coherent story, I’ll pick up a book or watch a movie. If I’m too frustrated by the gameplay to get to the story, you’ve failed as a designer. I’ll put up with a minor plothole or a handwaving “it’s magic” explanation or leaning on the 4th wall, but I will not put up with gameplay that makes me want to tear my hair out. Basically, if your battle system cannot be picked up within about five-ten minutes, I’m out. I don’t care how good your storyline is. And if I’m sitting there having to ~react~ to everything (hello Golden Sun 3)… get out.
