I'm guessing you loved his "You're so beautiful" line when she recruited him, but that could be a small infatuation than anything else, and Lyn already has a love interest (I'm guessing either LynxRath or LynxHector is the most likely, there is also LynxEliwood and LynxKent, but those two are likely to be what-if pairings, and LynxFlorina is nothing more than a friendship).
WARNING BRO, LONG POST AHEAD
…..dang. So well let’s start by reminding people why I’m That Lyn Fan, in that I dislike… All Of Those pairings, except for Lyn/Florina.
let’s talk about Lyn
preface: I love Lyn, because she’s what a lot of people detest about her - very human. she’s got a lot of problems with her vices, makes a lot of bad decisions, and can be immature. after all, she’s 14/16?? depending on the translation? come on, remember when you were that age, oh god, don’t remember it’s bad
so here’s this teenager, who, up until recently, was probably going to run a clan. No more than 500 people, I’d say, and that’s a stretch. Probably no more than 100. I’m guessing. Making a stab.
SUDDENLY, OH LOOK, YOU’RE AN HEIRESS. Oh, and you’re a halfbreed, so the people don’t like you. They may also have problems with your being a woman, which may have been an issue back home, but back home you probably could have eventually proven yourself, since your community is so small. You also have no political experience. THESE ARE ALL REAL-WORLD PROBLEMS..
I’M GONNA BE HONEST, most people are not going to like that lifestyle. Suddenly, you have to dress and act like a completely different person so that people also don’t go after you for being “uncultured” (Sacae really doesn’t seem to be where people go for nice holidays) in addition to the above. You have a load of responsibility that you’ve never prepared for. Hector and Eliwood? They’ve been raised that this is what’s going to happen, here’s what to expect, YOU WILL EVENTUALLY RUN THIS COUNTRY. Lyn has none of that. So honestly, her running away and signing her kingdom over to one of the other two? MAKES A LOT OF SENSE? It’s not even being particularly immature. It’s saying “whoa this isn’t going to end well, they’re going to trust one of you two much more, you can handle it better. I don’t want my kingdom in ruins by the time my reign is over.” Especially considering Lyn’s priorities, it’s being pretty mature to say “wow I actually don’t have what it takes.”
So basically, how I see Lyn Pairings is that A) Eliwood isn’t terribly interesting to me, so I sort of ignore him mostly. No dislike, I just am not interested in his character. B) Hector has a shitton of stuff going on, cannot see him being an attentive husband due to HUGE demands on the man’s time (I sorta started writing this actually o/)
C) Again, I have zero interest in Rath as a character. Not a fan. Though Karel/Rath had some slight potential as a pairing due to someone prompting me to write it.
D) Florina and Lyn is actually the other pairing that is near and dear to me. I love them, and even if it’s a nonsexual relationship or nothing beyond kisses and a bit of petting, I think it’s a really, truly sweet relationship. I think it can actually be an accessory pairing onto any of Lyn’s pairings, a tolerated “I understand you have this special friend, but it’s a lady thing and I don’t understand lady things so do whatever” from any other potential suitors.
The other thing I should point out is that I am in no way going to say that Karel/Lyn is a healthy relationship. Not until FE6, but that’s a long, long fanfic that I’ll never write.
HOWEVER. ANYWAY. So Karel and Lyn are both fairly high-strung people. Lyn, I think, mostly, because of her revenge thing. Once Wallace completes this for her, if against her will, I can see her composing herself. That was, after all, a huge motive. Leaves court life back to Sacae to try to pick up where she left off, maybe visit around to other tribes, make some attempt at finding where she now belongs. Karel and she could have an encounter or two, I’d think - maybe quick flings, a few fights, etc., but a slow build to realizing that they may in fact like each other, want to be around each other more. idk. but this over the span of many years of both wandering and chance encountering each other. Lyn probably has a lot of fun, nice encounters with Florina coming to check on her, make sure everything’s ok, and they talk about Cute Karel between making out with each other and flying around the skies on a pegasus. So then whatever happens to Karel to make him chop off his hair and get brown eyes happens, probably killing Guy I’ve always figured, though the more popular theory seems to be Karla’s death. Either way. So the next time he and Lyn run into each other, it’s a completely different dynamic, they actually begin having true conversations, personal connection, and the reason Lyn’s not in FE6 is that she’s wandering Sacae in a last look at it before she and Karel both retire to Bern to be happy old people. Like, she’s out in the middle of nowhere legitimately unaware that there’s a war going on. She comes home, patches up what needs patching, and then they passively train young swordspeople for years to come.

I was only pointing out that some asexuals may or may not show a sign of that disorder, which often comes from what they do best. I know not everyone is like that, and I understand. I still think Karel's asexual, but that's just my POV (Although it would be really interesting to see a character in a game that shows signs of having aspergers).
I just think that saying that because someone’s got a specialization (which up until class-changing FEs, everyone has - say, Nino who is a magical prodigy, Canas who is a researcher and in fact married someone to learn about dark magic, Marissa’s even having a nickname due to her skill, etc.) and is a creepy motherfucker/possibly asexual, it’s kinda…offensive to say that means that they are probably aspergers. Karel seems to have none of the more important qualifying symptoms. He doesn’t stim, doesn’t seem to have problems in reading people (after all, dirty fighter or not, in order to be a good fighter, you need to be able to read what your opponent is going to do). He also, if terribly awkwardly, reacts to others’ emotions. Just not in a standard way, which could much more easily be attributed to lack of decent, non-killy socialization.
I herd for a while that people were thinking that Jade from Tales of the Abyss was aspie, but I also disagreed with that..

I have a friend who is going to see your question and depending on her mood either laugh in a really grim, barely amused way, or be pretty irritated, so fair warning, you’re not doing yourself any favors with the aspergers thing. I’m not going to address that.
Now, let’s discuss his “obvious” asexuality, trendiness of reading characters as asexual in fe fandom aside.
BUT. I operate on two assumptions with Karel, based on my mood.
A) Karel is possessed by the spirit of the sword. Therefore, a calming presence such a Lucius can cause that to recede temporarily, allow him some peace, as Lucius is a saintly character - he legitimately drives the demon back, lets Karel’s true personality have a moment to itself, even if he has started to genuinely acquire some of those traits due to the longevity of his condition. Were someone to come along who similarly allowed him to be himself and soothed him, and he were attracted to? I don’t see why he wouldn’t be a sexual person.
This is the Fun Magical Aura theory, which makes sexytimes really easy, given the right character (LUCIUS. OR MAYBE KARLA).
B) Karel is hopeless insecure, exacerbated by how horrendously awkward he is (he can’t even stalk his manbuddy Geitz properly ok). This manifests in two ways: one, he has a compulsion to be the best at just everything. What better way to be the best than to just kill the competition? Possibly through dirty or underhanded methods, because let’s face it, his stats aren’t that good :’D I went through a phase of thinking that Karel was probably just godlike in combat, then I started using stats to fill out the rest of a character’s personality that isn’t shown in canon, and things got a lot more interesting.
So in order for the dude to have a sexual relationship with anyone, FIRST OF ALL they have to overcome the fact that this is an intensely competitive, insecure, jibberingly awkward person. AT LEAST HE HAS LOOKS RIGHT?? Probably pretty irritating to be around. But assuming that they can manage to not make him so uncomfortable that he just kills them for the trouble, SURE Y NOT, PARTY IN BED
But I mean he’s probably not very good unless we use the excuse of “he can read a body in battle why not in bed” which I mean by default we know I’m ok with
But finally. Isn’t it a given that most people want to see porn of characters they think are blistering hot regardless of the logic of it I mean come on now
